Resources

I figured it would be a good idea to give you a list of useful Internet Marketing tools and resources. After all, they say a workman is only as good as his tools, so if you don’t have any, you might want to check these out. And if you know of any really cool resources yourself, then please feel free to share. :)

Keyword Research

It’s crucial you do proper keyword research if you’re going to be marketing anything online. This should be your first step before you enter a niche, write an article, create a video, pick a domain,… everything starts with keyword research.

  • Google – free.
  • Market Samurai – free and paid versions available. The free version is fine if you only want the keyword research portion of the software.
  • Traffic Travis – free though a paid ‘pro’ version is due for release on May 2nd.
  • Wordtracker – free or subscription.

Autoresponders

They say the money’s in the list. (They lie. The money is in the relationship you build with people, whether they’re on your list or not). In order to manage your list effectively, you’ll need an autoresponder.

  • iContact – free option for up to 500 subscribers.
  • AWeber – $19 monthly for up to 500 subscribers. One month trial for $1
  • Imnica Mail – $9 monthly for up to 5000 subscribers. Discounts if you pay quarterly or yearly.

Graphics

You want your website to look good don’t ya? Course you do.

  • MorgueFile – thousands of free images.
  • Microsoft Office – images, powerpoint presentations, templates and more.
  • Picnik – free, online image editor
  • Pixlr – free screen grab and image editing.

Screen Capture

It seems I use some form of screen capture every day. Luckily, there are loads of options to choose from whether you want to capture still images or moving images.

  • Jing – free and paid versions available. Can capture images or create videos up to 5 minutes in length with the free version.
  • BB Flashback – great screen recording software. 3 versions available, free, standard and pro.
  • CamStudio – free, open source, screen capture software.
  • Camtasia – probably the most widely used screen recording software. Free 30 day trial available. Big brother to Jing. :)

Try to get away from thinking that ‘free’ means rubbish. It doesn’t! Free usually just means it might not have all the bells and whistles you would like, but bells and whistles aren’t going to earn you any money. Well, not unless you plan on a career as a Morris Dancer. Shocked Smiley Face
